Day 310

Day 310

Thank you for reading my private space. I will make my best to not blog in Chinese or in lingoes for I noticed an increase of readers from United States.

I appreciate friends who tune in my space and followed me on twitters like daily and weekly affairs. Thank you for being with me in times of troubles and in times of joy. The amazing invention of the net and social networking network make us connect through varies channels.

You know my neighbour died last week from heart attack in which he is only 32 years old. He went sailing, drove home and collapsed at my house carpark. He had no history of any heart attack, he just collapsed like that. A young man full of dreams and visions to fulfill leaving them undone. and his living parents who being so devastated for their lost of hope.

Although he is not my client, I find myself obligated to help in making the death claims for them. Through all the insurance he had gotten, the death claim came up to close to SGD100,000/- Deducting the final funeral expenses of SGD20,000/- he left a sum of SGD80,000 for his parents. His parents had already retired. How long can SGD80,000 last? They are still paying for their flat and his dad is suffering from diabetes. Who is going to pay for their living expenses?

That really makes me dwell into my job being a wealth protector, a life-protector in my job being a financial consultant. What have I been doing 4 years in this industry. He is my neighbour, why haven I approach him and cover up his short-fall in event of income protection and family protection.

His depart made me ponder of why am I in this line, and why am I not talking to people in educating them of the importance of life protection? I've made my decision. Decision tagged along with courage. I've made the decision to knock on the doors of all my neighbours to render my service in helping them to do their financial health check. No matter what rejections I am going to face, a.k.a fear of rejections. I am going to ask.

We do not want the bad things to happen to us in life. But when it comes, we certainty do not have a choice don't we. No one wants to die prematurely, but when that happens, as a responsible son/daughter/father/mother we want to ensure the living are well-taken care of. My job cannot help the families in their emotional wounds and pain of their lost. But I can take care of them financially. Because they have made plans for rainy days and days if misfortune happens.

For myself, I have plannings for my family, my will is written not because I think I am going to die?!? I just want to distribute my assets, wealth to people I love and cared. I do not want my assets/wealth to go to estate laws. For your information, if you have a life insurance policy of more than SGD300,000 where Singapore estate law says there is a maximum of SGD150,000 to be given to each of your parents, the excess will go to estate laws where they will take bloody many many months to distribute the $$. Don't be too surprise if you think the estate government cannot take your money. They can.

Make norminations for your insurance policies people! If not in times of problem arise, like bankruptcy etc, the debtors can come and take your money away if you didn't or you are too ignorant to protect them.  Or go and get your will write-up.

If you are lost in reading my blog, you have no idea what I am talking about, call me and let me educate you.

I had been running appointments lately and I am not trying to be snobbish. I come to this point of not selling what you want. BUT providing you with the solution of what you need. I don't sell products anymore. I think AIA had changed me somehow or rather. I only sell solutions to your problem. If I can't see a problem, what solution is there to GIVE? Nothing.

Met this prospect and he asked for a life coverage of half a million from me, gave me the budget and asked me to do it up for him. I said NO. Gave a question back to him, why half a million? Where does the figures come from? Explain to me. He cannot explain. That is when I come handy. I just access his whole financial situation. I told him I am not a durian seller. I am not a vendor whom you can tell me, hey, I want this D24 durian. I do not sell products, I sell solutions. I have the solutions to your problems. My job is to tell you which area you have overlooked. Fair enough?

Some of my clients said this me : Seven how much do you made from my policy?

Me: I show you the calculations

XXXXXxxxxxxxxxx

Client: wow quite alot lei.

Me: Ehh.... I think I will rather you include my name in your will than getting that XXXxxxx amount.
If I can choose I would rather want a share off your assured amount of SGD800,000/-
I am only getting less than 1% or maybe even lesser for doing my job and My responsibility is to be there for you and your family till your children grows up and make sure they have education funds. Do you think I deserve to be paid more? lolx.

and they usually ended up buying me dinner or referring people to me.
I have lovely clients, sweet and so beautiful people. Clients who invite me to their house for dinner, who sms me happy birthdays, who assuredly hand their children to me when they are busy.

If you are one of my lovely client who is reading this: I want to thank you so greatly for allowing me to be involve in your life.

If you are an insurance believer/ but you are not doing enough to plan for ahead of you. And you do not know what have you gotten yourself into, what have you previously bought in terms of insurance/hospitalisation/savings/investments, Give me a chance to get involve in your life.

Let all of us grow together, spiritually, financially and mentally.

The truth is I honor my job and I have dignity for my career.

Yes, my motto: So that others may live in times of adversities because I care. I can make a difference.
